Research Department and Library

The Research Department exists to provide CWU Officers and Executive Committee members with factual and statistical briefings to support their work in collective bargaining and strategic involvement with members’ employers. It is also there to make and support representations to political and regulatory bodies on issues concerning the industries in which CWU members work as well as more general work-related issues.

The department includes a well-stocked library containing records of all union documentation as well as books, journals and reports on the industries in which CWU members work, employment issues, government policy and the trade union movement in general.

Research Department staff also attempt to meet all reasonable requests for information from outside headquarters, particularly from branches.

The library is a resource available for use by all CWU members. To request information or arrange a visit please contact: Sharron Willis at iwillis@cwu.org or tel: 020 8971 7391
